Kia Forte Koup
The Kia Koup is the concept study for a car model of the Korean automobile manufacturer Kia. The two-door sports coupe was unveiled in March 2008 at the New York International Auto Show. Developed the 2 2- seater Koup in California design center of Kia Motors America in Irvine.
The body is characterized by different light edges, LED headlamps and a split grille at the front and a rear diffuser made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic and dual tailpipes. The per twin-scroll turbocharger (with two inlet spirals ) supercharged 2.0 - liter in-line petrol engine with four cylinders and aluminum housing reaches a maximum power of 213 kW ( 290 hp ) and a torque of 392 Nm between 2000 and 4000 min -1. The front -mounted engine transmits its power through a sequential six- speed automatic transmission to the front wheels. The direct injection ( GDI - Gasoline Direct Injection) is to provide for reduced fuel consumption and emissions. The wheels are independently suspended in front by MacPherson struts with stabilizers and rear of a multi-link axle. An electronic Continuous Damping Control optimizes the spring damping according to the driving situation. Furthermore, a speed-dependent power-assisted rack and pinion steering is used.
The safety equipment includes six airbags in addition to a tire pressure monitoring system, electronic suspension damping, an adaptive light and cruise control.
