Kia Forte (since 2008)

The Kia Forte is a model of the automobile manufacturer Kia Motors, since the end of September 2008 is available in his native South Korea and later in several other markets, including North America and China has been introduced.

History

The same for the world market introduced at the Chicago Auto Show and the Canadian International Auto Show in February 2009 compact car based on a cost- reduced platform of the Kia cee'd. In North America and China, the Forte since June 2009, is available. The production for the Chinese market takes place opened in 2007 Yancheng plant, for all other markets in the Korean Hwasung plant. The name varies between markets and draws on previous Forte. Positioning

As a direct competitor of the Forte in the domestic market, the Renault Samsung SM3, Daewoo Lacetti Premiere and the Hyundai Avante which is also not offered as a cheaper variant of the Hyundai i30 in Europe apply. Both Hyundai models based on the same compact platform as Forte and cee'd.

Model family

The four-door notchback sedan followed in August 2009 on the basis of the concept car Kia Koup Concept, the first ever two-door coupe model of Kia Forte Koup under the name.
