Kid Dynamite (band)

Kid Dynamite was an existing 1997-2000 influential American Melodic hardcore band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Since 2005, there have been several reunion concerts.

History

The band was founded in 1997 by Jason Shevchuk, Steve Farrell, Dan Yemin and Dave carriage guard in Philadelphia. Dan Yemin had previously already played for the melodic hardcore band Lifetime.

1998 the label Jade Tree Records the same first album was released. In many cases, this album is considered an important milestone in Hardcore. Steve Farrell left the band after some time and was replaced by Michael " Spider" Cotterman on bass. Among other things, the group at this time was successful on tour with Sick of It All and Good Riddance.

At the turn of the century, the second album Shorter, Faster, Louder has been published, with the band was often seen as the successor of Lifetime. Even before the release of the panel, the group split up, however.

In 2003, the label Jade Tree Records with Cheap Shots, Youth Anthems, a compilation of rare songs and live recordings out. Two years later with the DVD Four Years In One Gulp another release of the band with many live recordings. At a reunion concert, it came in 2005 when the band in the traditional CBGB in New York City was a benefit concert. 2009 with Carry the Torch: be published, Artwork on various punk and hardcore bands songs of A Tribute to Kid Dynamite Kid Dynamite is a tribute album. On August 15, 2010 Kid Dynamite played a reunion concert on the This Is Hardcore Festival at the Starlight Ballroom in Philadelphia.

In the wake of the punk and hardcore festival Groezrock in Belgium Meerhout Kid Dynamite played on 26 April ( pre-festival club show) and on April 27, 2013 ( Festival show) their first European shows ever.

Style

Can be described with fast, melodic hardcore punk The style of the group. Therefore some poppier skate punk influences echo through, other pieces of the band sound the stronger after less melodic " classic " hardcore punk.
