Kieran Kane

Kieran Kane ( born October 7, 1949 in Queens, New York) is an American country music singer and songwriter.

Life

Getting Started - The O'Kanes

Kane began his musical career in the seventies as a songwriter and session musician in Los Angeles. For a short stay in 1979 in Nashville, he was taken by a local music publisher under contract. A little later, he signed a recording contract with Elektra. On the label, he released the album, Kieran Kane, and several successful singles. Among them was in 1982 You're The Best And It's Who You Love. Then he fell out with his record company. One could not agree on the musical presentation of his new recordings to. In 1985 he founded together with Jamie O'Hara is acoustically aligned duo The O'Kanes. After three successful and highly acclaimed by the critics albums separated the two at the end of the 1980s.

Private Label: Dead Reckoning

In 1993 he produced the solo album, Find My Way Home. Again there was excellent reviews, but sales fell short of expectations. Again, there were clashes with the record company. With his comrades Kevin Welch, Mike Henderson, Tammy Rogers and Harry Stinson, the producer of his solo album, he founded the independent label Dead Reckoning Records. The goal was independence from the commercialism oriented establishment of the Music City. The own musical ideas could be realized without compromise. The talented musicians supporting each other in their projects and thus came out with a small financial commitment. As Dead Reckoners produced the five 1997 album A Night Of Reckoning. Kieran Kane also released several solo albums. For some, he painted himself the cover template. Kieran Kane is considered one of the best songwriters of the country scene. His most successful title was ' I'll Go On Loving You, who for Alan Jackson became a super hit in 1998.
