Kikuyu, Kenya

Kikuyu is a small town in Kenya, which lies about 20 kilometers west of Nairobi's business hub.

He emerged from the fort, which was founded in 1891 by Major Eric Smith, a British officer, near Dagoretti. The fort was located on the caravan route from Mombasa to Uganda and should serve primarily to supply the numerous caravans of the Imperial British East Africa Company. By the end of the colonial era Kikuyu therefore was also called Fort Smith.
