Kilcar

Kilcar (Irish and official name: Cill Charthaigh; German: "The Church of St. Cartha ") is a town and parish in County Donegal in the northwest of the Republic of Ireland, which goes back to a monastery founded in the 6th century.

Kilcar is located in the southwest of County Donegal on the regional road R263 in a Gaeltacht region so that Cill Charthaigh is the official name of the place. From the National Road N56 near Kilcar Killybegs is about 13 km from the sea within walking distance away. The population Kilcars was determined during Census 2006, 655 people.
