Kildare County F.C.

The Kildare County Football Club was an Irish football club from the town of Newbridge in County Kildare. The club was founded in 2002, but plays continuously until the dissolution in the lower division of the League of Ireland, the First Division.

History

As in 2001, the St. Francis FC withdrew during the current season of the League of Ireland, the club Newbridge Town was offered to join the league. After some negotiation, it was agreed, however, sure to start a new club, who should have his homestead in the stadium of Newbridge Town. The first three seasons finished each Kildare County at the best place, which is not authorized for direct ascent or to participate to the Ascension Play-Offs. In all three cases, depending Kildare County lacked only a victory for the promotion to the Premier Division, but remained second-rate, respectively.
