Kilians

The Kilian (until 2007: The Kilian ) was a German indie rock band from Dinslaken.

Band History

The Kilian emerged from a loose alliance of music-loving students in Dinslaken initially called "The Rivets ". Under this name in the fall of 2005 was also a first demo recording. At this time, cemented the line-up and the band recorded as "The Kilian's " their first EP of the same name on. In early 2006 placed the song " Jealous Lover" in the campus charts and peaked at rank 3

The band caught the attention of her future manager Thees Uhlmann, who invited them to play at the 2006 spring tour his band Tomte seven nights as the opening act. As part of this tour, the band sold 700 copies of their first EP.

In August 2006, the band toured in a sponsored beverage company Red Bull bus through Germany and played minor roles in the campsites of music festivals. On April 17, 2007 Fight The start was released by the major label Vertigo Berlin ( Universal) the first official EP the group on the article 'the' abandoned in the wake of this publication in the band name and henceforth appeared only as " Kilian ".

In summer 2007, the band toured Germany and played among others at Rock am Ring and Rock im Park.

The debut album Kill the Kilians appeared on 7 September and debuted at # 75 in the German charts. In the same year Kilians were " Best Newcomer" nominated for the 1Live crown in the category and took second place.

In December 2007, Kilian Björn Dixgård ( Mando Diao ) accompanied on his solo tour of Germany, and were the opening act at three concerts of the Babyshambles Germany in January and February 2008. Early 2009 they accompanied this band again on tour in Germany.

The second album They Are Calling Your Name was released on April 10 2009, the single " Said & Done" was released on April 3, 2009, and was also placed in the German single charts.

Effect from 25 August 2009, Kilian Coldplay accompanied on their tour of Germany, starting in Hanover, for three concerts (Hannover, Dusseldorf and Munich).

In March 2010, Kilian were guests at the festival SXSW in the U.S. Austin, then toured singer Simon den Hartog in April solo as support for the Australian band An Horse. The remaining band members devoted themselves mostly their studies. In August 2012, the third album of the band, which in the name of Lines You Should Not Cross appears. The album will be the first time at Grand Hotel van Cleef.

2012 Samplet pop rapper Cro " Fight The Start" of Kilian for the song " Around the World ". This is on iTunes and Amazon the most downloaded track of the album raop.

On August 1, 2013, the record label Grand Hotel van Cleef on Facebook and on their website announced that will dissolve after a farewell tour in December 2013, Kilian.
