Kilkee

Kilkee ( Irish: Cill Chaoi ) is during the holiday season, a lively coastal town on the Atlantic Ocean and is just off the national road N67 in County Clare in the west of Ireland. Kilkee is one of the main tourist destinations in Ireland and has 1024 inhabitants ( 2011).

The place Kilkee is first mentioned in the 14th century as Cill Chaoidhe (St. Caois church). The castle of Kilkee was built in the late 15th century by the MacSweeneys as a fief building and later used by the O'Briens.

In addition to some modern strikes preserved the place some of the Victorian building dating from the 19th century. The more than 1 km long Horseshoe Bay (Eng.
