Kilombero District

The Kilombero District is an administrative district in the administrative region in the southwest of Morogoro Tanzania.

In the southeast it is bounded by the river Kilombero and to the northwest by the Udzungwa Mountains. The eastern part of the district is part of the Selous Game Reserve, which is difficult to access, however, from the Kilombero District ago. Parts of the Udzungwa mountains are as Udzungwa Mountains National Park under strict protection. The main entrance of the park is Mang'ula in the northeast of the district.

In 2002, the population of the Kilombero district was 321 611. The majority of the population engaged in subsistence agriculture. Besides rice, sugar cane and teak are grown commercially.

Capital of Kilombero district is located in the northeast town of Ifakara.
