Kim Novak

Kim Novak ( born February 13, 1933, Chicago, Illinois; actually Marilyn Pauline Novak ) is an American film actress. The highlight of her career experienced in the 1950s and 1960s.

Life

Kim Novak is the child of Czech immigrants. Her first film appearance was in 1954 in the former model the RKO film The alluring Venus on the side of Jane Russell. A good role had Kim Novak in 1955 in the film Picnic at the side of the Hollywood star William Holden. Another great film success followed in the same year with The Man with the Golden Arm with Frank Sinatra. With him and Rita Hayworth in 1957 she was seen in Pal Joey, in which she represented the dancer Linda Deutsch.

1956 Kim Novak was listed at number 9 on the yearly Quigley's Top Ten Money Making Stars Poll. The order of the top stars at the box office on this list was due to their evaluation by the theater owners. One of her most famous roles was that of Judy Barton in Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo - From the Realm of the Dead (1958). She played a mysterious blonde who gives it seemingly twice. The film was indeed one of the few failures Hitchcock, but is now regarded as one of the best films of all time. With their local co-star James Stewart in the same year she appeared in the fantasy comedy Bell, Book and Candle in the role of a witch in love.

After some very successful films in which she played with well known partners such as Frank Sinatra, James Stewart and James Garner, the cool blonde, it was the mid-1960s calm around them. Only in the Miss Marple film Murder in the mirror she had in 1980 on the side of Tony Curtis, Rock Hudson, Elizabeth Taylor and Angela Lansbury still a much-publicized appearance. Then we engaged her as a guest star for a season of the then very successful U.S. series Falcon Crest. 1991 Kim Novak turned her last film Liebestraum.

In 1955 she was awarded as Best Young Actress Golden Globe, 1957, she was awarded with the Henrietta Award another special award this film prize. At the Berlinale 1997, she was honored for her life's work with the Honorary Golden Bear. Kim Novak has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

With a nod to their person texts published in the 1998 novel Kim Novak works never bathed in the lake of Galilee, the Swedish writer Håkan Nesser: In the book, which was published under the same title as the 2005 movie, is the figure with the name Ewa Kaludis, played by Helena af Sandeberg, in appearance have a strong resemblance to Novak.

Private

From 1965 to 1966 she was married to the British actor Richard Johnson ( * 1927). The doctor Robert Malloy she is married to his second wife since 1976. You should also have had relationships with Sammy Davis Jr. and Michael Brandon. She now lives retired on a farm in Oregon.
