Kim Ryholt

Kim Ryholt, fully Kim Steven Bardrum Ryholt, ( born June 19, 1970 in New Jersey, United States) is an American- Danish Egyptologist and since 2000 associate professor at the University of Copenhagen.

Life

Ryholt began his studies at the University of Copenhagen, in 1990 he graduated from there with a Bachelor of Arts. Then he went to Germany, where he studied in 1991 at the Free University in Berlin from 1992 to 1993 at the Julius- Maximilians- University in Würzburg. In 1993 he received his master's degree at the University of Copenhagen. 1994-1998 he was a Research Fellow. In 1998 he was an assistant professor at the University of Copenhagen, where he was in 2000 and his doctorate in the same year appointed associate professor. Ryholts research priorities are the ancient Egyptian history and literature as well as cultural exchange and identity formation. He is curator of the Papyrus Carlsberg Collection.
