Kim Sanders
Kim Sanders ( born October 24, 1968 in East Chicago, Indiana) is an American singer and composer who has lived in Germany since 1989. During the 1990s and 2000s she performed in various dance floor productions, including Culture Beat, Captain Hollywood Project, Loft, Schiller and Mark Keaton.
Life
During her time at the high school Sanders played with in various musicals. She began singing professionally at age 15 and wrote her first songs 17 years. She supervised for one year, the U.S. youth TV show UpBeat before they moved into the German Heidelberg in 1989 by the United States, where her father was stationed in the army. Sanders initially worked with in the studio recordings in which her voice was used as the Second Voice. First -known productions were Show Me Torsten Fenslau, Hold On with loft and Impossible by Captain Hollywood Project. In 1993 it abolished the singer with her single Show Me for nine weeks in the German singles chart. In 1994 she managed to ride one more time in the German charts and remained there for two weeks. From 1998 to 1999 she was lead singer for Culture Beat, for which she sang, among others, the title Pay No Mind and Rendez -Vous.
Since 2000, Sanders was several times a guest singer at ambient project Schiller. They can be heard on several albums of the music project and also took part in the tours. Twice she was able to land with Schiller chart hits. In 2004, Sanders and Heppner Milú with the title " From Gold " on. In addition, she worked with producers and artists such as Nicola Conte and Till Bronner.
Their 2003 released single Something About You managed to survive despite much airplay not place in the sales charts, because the record company had made a mistake with the barcode. In 2003, her first solo album Pretty on Edge, which was produced by Gerret Frerichs appeared. The song released on the album, she dedicated the 2001 fatalities singer Melanie Thornton.
In 2009 she took together with the German jazz drummer Wolfgang Haffner a title for the album " Round Silence " on: " It's Not Safe", published by ACT Music.
In 2009, Sanders released her second solo album, A Closer Look, which was awarded in the spring of 2010 with the Prize of the German Record Critics' Award in the category "Black Music". From late 2011, she participated in the German singing talent show The Voice of Germany, in which they chose the team of Nena. On February 10, 2012 Sanders was awarded second place in the final.
