Kim Simmonds

Kim Simmonds ( born December 6, 1947 in Newbridge, Wales ) is a British blues and rock musician ( guitar, piano, vocals). He is best known as the founder and frontman of the rock band Savoy Brown Blue.

With 13 years Simmonds began playing guitar. In 1966 he founded the Savoy Brown Blues Band, as the Savoy Brown later became popular especially in the United States.

Kim Simmonds is one of the leading British blues guitarists, along with colleagues such as Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor and Peter Green. He coined the blues-rock scene of the 1960s in England with much and was instrumental in bringing back the blues craze in America.

Even after 40 years, Kim Simmonds with Savoy Brown is still on the go. He also often works solo, with a preference for the acoustic guitar.
