Kim Soo-nyung

Kim Soo- Nyung ( Kor. 김수녕; born April 5, 1971 in Chungcheongbuk- do, South Korea ) is a former South Korean archer, four -time World Champion and four-time Olympic gold medalist.

At the age of 17 she won at the Olympic Summer Games in Seoul in 1988 already two gold medals - in singles and with the team. Then she took four gold medals at the World Championships in 1989 in Lausanne and 1991 in Cracow. She won two times in a single as well as in the team competition.

At the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, she won again with the South Korean team and was awarded the silver medal in singles. After the Games of Barcelona she resigned at the age of 21 years to marry and great to pull two children. In 1999, she started training again and qualified for the Olympic Games in Sydney. There, she won another gold medal with the team and scored the 3rd place in singles.

With four gold medals she is the most successful archer in the Olympic Games since 1972 archery again was an Olympic discipline.
