Kim Staal

Kim Staal (born 10 March 1978 in Herlev ) is a Danish professional ice hockey player who stands at the Star Bulls Rosenheim DEL2 from the 2013/2014 season under contract.

Career

Kim Staal began his career as a hockey player at Herlev IK, for whom he made ​​his debut in the second Danish league in season 1993/94. He subsequently transferred to the junior level of the Swedish first division club Malmö Redhawks, for their first team, he played in the Elitserien from 1996 to 2001. During this period, the attacker has also been selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1996 in the fourth round as a total of 92 players from the Montreal Canadiens, for whom he never played, however.

After Staal of 2001 for MODO Hockey Örnsköldsvik aground and 2003 in the Elitserien, with whom he was in season 2001/ 02 Swedish runner-up, he returned to Malmö, with whom he descent into second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan 2005. There he spent the entire 2005/06 season with his team and reached Malmö direct promotion back to the Elitserien, before he was taken for the following season by the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League contract. After only one year, the Dane returned to Sweden, where he was from 2007 to 2009 per a season long for Linköpings HC and HV 71 Jönköping in Elitserien on the ice, where he with both teams again in the finals at the Swedish Championship subject.

For the 2009/10 season, Staal signed a contract again with his former club Malmo Redhawks, who was relegated back to the second-class HockeyAllsvenskan in the meantime. At the end of the season he did not renew his contract, however, and the Herning Blue Fox joined as a contract player loose end of November 2010 from the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen at, where he was assistant captain immediately. At the end of the 2010/11 season he was with his team at first Danish champion. For the 2011/12 season he returns to his hometown club, Herlev Eagles.

In the summer of 2013, the German second division Rosenheim Star reported the obligation Kim Staal. Thus, the Dane playing in the 2013/14 season for the first time in a German league.

Internationally

For Denmark Staal took at junior level at the U18 Junior B European Championships in 1995 and 1996 and the U20 Junior C World Championships in 1995, 1996 and 1998 in part. In the senior level, he stood in the squad of Denmark to the B World Championships in 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000 2001 and 2002, as well as in the A World Championships in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. At the World Championships 2008 to 2010 he was an assistant captain in Denmark.
