Kim Wilson

Kim Wilson ( born January 6, 1951 in Detroit ) is an American blues rock singer and harmonica player, who was best known as a member of the Fabulous Thunderbirds.

Wilson grew up as the son of two radio - pop singers in California. Even as a child he was taught for guitar and trombone. Only as a senior in high school, he began to get excited for blues. From 1970, he began playing professionally blues harmonica playing earned him various blues musicians at, with whom he played at that time. Among the musicians with whom he worked in the 1970s, including Eddie Taylor, Charlie Musselwhite, John Lee Hooker, Sonny Rhodes and finally Muddy Waters. Meanwhile, Wilson had moved to Austin, where he met Jimmie Vaughan, with whom he founded in 1977 the Fabulous Thunderbirds.

In addition to his work with the T-Birds, Wilson also solo records began publishing in the early 1990s. His solo debut was released in 1993 and offered next Tigerman only three original compositions various old blues classics, including Tampa Red, Roosevelt Sykes and Lonnie Johnson. Also on the 94er follow-up album That's Life can be heard only three original songs. In addition to some publications with the Fabulous Thunderbirds and some other solo albums Wilson joined in the 1990s regularly with Bonnie Raitt.
