Kiminobu Kimura

Kiminobu Kimura (Japanese木村 公 宣, Kimura Kiminobu; born October 24, 1970 in Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture) is a former Japanese ski racer. Kimura belonged to the late 1990s, to the best slalom racers in the world and was considered an excellent technician.

Kimura's career began slowly. After its launch at the Olympic Winter Games in 1992 he took off in January 1993 regularly participates in the race for the Ski World Cup. But first he could only place in the lower ranks. Mid-1990s was interrupted by a malfunction in his back his career, which forced him to a two-month hospital stay.

After his return to the Ski World Cup, he began to establish himself as a top driver. Between January 1996 and March 1998 he went 16 times in the top ten. His best finish he reached in January 1998 in the slalom in Veysonnaz, in which he finished third. This was the best finish by a Japanese Skirennläufers since Tetsuya Okabe 1990.

In the season 1996/97 he was in the slalom overall standings of the World Cup rollercoaster, a year later fifth. After the 2002/ 03 season Kimura finished his career.
