Kimura Ihei Award

The Kimura Ihei Shashin - shō (Japanese木村 伊 兵卫 写真 赏, dt " Kimura - Ihei Photography Prize", engl. Ihei Kimura Memorial Award of Photography ) is the most significant recognition for artistic photography in Japan. The namesake of the award, Ihei Kimura (木村 伊 兵卫, Kimura IHE ), was one of the most celebrated Japanese photographers of the 20th century.

The prize is awarded annually by Asahi Shinbun since 1975, with the exception of 1983, the publisher is publisher of the daily newspaper Asahi Shinbun and the photo magazine Asahi Camera (アサヒ カメラ, Asahi Camera, previously. Asahi Camera Kimura Ihei Shashin - shō (アサヒ カメラ 木村 伊兵衛 写真 賞).
