The district Kinabatangan is an administrative district in the Malaysian state of Sabah. Administrative center is the city of Kinabatangan. The district is part of the Kinabatangan area Sandakan Division to which the districts Beluran, Kinabatangan, Sandakan and Tongod belong.

Demography

The population of the district is, according to the last census, 146 987 inhabitants. As in many other cities in Sabah, there are also a considerable number of illegal immigrants from the nearby Philippines, mainly from Sulu and Mindanao, which are not registered in the population statistics.

The administrative headquarters of the district is the city Kinabatangan.
