Kineo CAM

Kineo Computer Aided Motion ( Kineo CAM ) is a software manufacturer based in Toulouse, France, has for KineoWorks, its automatic path planning and motion planning technology won in 2007, the European ICT Prize in Hanover.

KineoWorks is a software component that is specialized for motion planning for automated movement in mechanical systems or virtual artifacts in 3D environments.

KCD is a library for collision detection with an object-oriented API. It is part of KineoWorks or can be used as a standalone component. It is based on a hierarchical structure of heterogeneous data types, based on the compound (composite design pattern ), and is particularly optimized for use on large 3D models.

The core markets of Kineo CAM is PLM and CAD systems, as well as robotics and coordinate measuring machines.

History

The company was founded by Kineo CAM in December 2000 based on 15 years of research activities of the Laboratory for Analysis and Architecture System ( LAAS ) at the French Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS ). 2012, the company was acquired by Siemens.
