King Mu of Zhou

Mu, King of Zhou (Chinese:周 穆王; Pinyin: Zhou Mù Wáng ) was the fifth king of the Chinese Zhou Dynasty.

Life

Mu came to the throne when his father and predecessor Zhao on a trip down south to Chu drowned. King Mu traveled like, prefer the Kunlun Mountains. He is said to have traveled 90,000 kilometers in his life. He was ambitious than wise, but still sat through reforms that changed the Zhou Dynasty prevail.

During Mus rule was the dynasty of Zhou at its height and Mu expanded the power of the Zhou to the east and successfully defended incident peoples from the west. He was also a surprising number of tribes to gather a large army through his travels to distribute the Quarong that dominated the western part of China.

Mu probably lived about 105 years, and reigned nearly 55 years; 976-922 BC
