Kingdom of Artsakh

The Kingdom of Artsakh (Armenian for Nagorno-Karabakh ) was a medieval Armenian state structure of Bagratides Dynasty, which lasted from about 1000 to 1261 and the counties Chatsjen, Gardman and Gegharkunik included. The exact status Arzachs within the Armenian kingdom is not understood. After the conquest by the Ilkhanate in 1261, the Kingdom lost its status as an independent kingdom, but Artsakh remained an autonomous principality.
