Kingfisher County is a county located in the state of Oklahoma in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Kingfisher.

Geography

The County is located north-west of the geographic center of Oklahoma and has an area of ​​2346 square kilometers, of which 8 square miles is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Garfield County, Logan County, Canadian County, Blaine County and Major County.

History

Kingfisher County was formed in 1890 as an original county. It was named, as well as the district capital, after the Kingfisher Creek, which flows through the county. The County was settled by white settlers during the first official land ownership acquisition (Oklahoma Land Run ) on April 22, 1889.
