Ruby Kinglet (Regulus calendula )

The Firecrest (Regulus ) is a small genus of birds which is generally viewed as a separate family Regulidae and includes seven species. Previously they were because of their superficial resemblance to the genus Warbler (Phylloscopus ) in the family of warbler -like ( Sylviidae ) attributed. This one, however, has now discarded on the basis of molecular findings. The Latin name Regulus means Little King or Prince.

Firecrest occur in North America and Eurasia. They are insectivores, inhabit treetops and are the smallest native birds.
