Kingsford Smith PL.7

The Kingsford Smith PL.7 was an Australian agricultural aircraft, designed and built in the 1950s by Kingsford Smith Aviation Service.

History and construction

The body of the PL.7 mainly consisted of a welded steel tank which was the tank for the fertilizer to be distributed, or other chemicals, and in the rear part of the recorded pilot seat. The plane was powered by a radial engine Armstrong Siddeley Cheetah X with 400 hp ( 298 kW). The aircraft was designed as strutted biplane, with the lower wing were about a quarter narrower than the upper. The fabric-covered tail was at the end of two emanating from the upper wing tail booms. The machine also has a fixed tricycle landing gear possessed. The prototype first flew on September 20, 1956, but burned in 1958, after which the project was discontinued.
