Kingsholm Stadium

The Kingsholm Stadium is a stadium in the English town of Gloucester. It offers 16,500 spectators and is the home ground of the rugby union club Gloucester RFC.

In 1891 the club acquired the current stadium site for £ 4,000. The first grandstand was built in 1926 but burned down six years later from. Gradually, the stadium was expanded to its present size. A significant expansion phase was present in the 1950s, the standing terrace called The Shed ( " dandruff " ), which is referred to by the Gloucester fans as the " cauldron of fear."

At Kingsholm Stadium several preliminary round matches will be played during the Rugby Union World Cup 2015.
