Kingwood is a city and the county seat of Preston County in the U.S. state of West Virginia. Kingswood has 2944 inhabitants in an area of 6.4 km ². The city is affected by the West Virginia State Route 7 and the West Virginia State Route 26. Kingswood was founded in 1815. The city is the birthplace of William G. Conley, a politician and from 1929 to 1933 the 18th Governor of West Virginia.
