Kinoshita Rigen

Rigen Kinoshita (Japanese木 下 利 玄, real name: Kinoshita Toshiharu with the same spelling; * January 1, 1886 in Okayama Prefecture, † February 15, 1925 ) was a Japanese poet.

Life

Kinoshita began to write in his youth tankas under the guidance of Sasaki Nobutsuna. With Arishima Takeo, Shiga Naoya and Mushanokoji Saneatsu 1910 he founded the literary magazine Shirakaba ( "White Birch "). His most famous poem collections were Kōgyoku (红玉; 1919) and Ichiro (一路; 1924).
