Geography

Kirchberg an der Murr Murr is located on the River, a tributary of the Neckar, between Backnang and Marbach am Neckar. The municipality has a share in the natural areas Swabian- Franconian Forest and the Neckar basin. The municipality is located on 201-343 m above sea level. NN.

Community structure

To Kirchberg an der Murr include the village of Kirchberg an der Murr, the hamlet Frühmeßhof, Neuhof, Rundsmühlhof and Zwingelhausen and the homestead Obertorplatz courtyards. These six towns will be conducted in the main statutes as districts. Its official designation has been made by prefixed names of municipalities and by trailing hyphen names of districts. The municipal area also are the disposed villages Auhof, calibration Halden, Kronfeld, Schwab Stetten, Waibstatt, interior and exterior Hoefle Hoefle.

History

Kirchberg was April 11, 1245 was first mentioned in documents as Kircberc. The village, which largely was in the possession of the Dukes of Teck, was born on July 12, 1302 in Württemberg.

The village belonged to the office, later Oberamt Marbach and came to the district in 1938 Backnang.

Kirchberg has on the railway line Backnang -Ludwigsburg since 1879 connection. With the opening of the extension of the S -Bahn line S4 between Marbach and Backnang on 8 December 2012, the community is connected to the Stuttgart S- Bahn network.

The municipality has a primary and secondary school with Werkrealschule.

Among the interesting buildings include the town hall of 1787 and the old vicarage, which was originally built in 1617 as a private home.

  • The street festival takes place in late June, held a week before the Backnanger street festival. This two-day street festival is organized by the Kirchberger clubs.
  • The flea market is held twice a year, in April and September. The stalls in the stomach street clothes, toys, wicker and many others are sold.
