History

The story of Kirchenlamitz is also that of about two kilometers south-west to Castle Epprechtstein. 1352 the viscount of Nuremberg were invested with this and came into possession of the entire rule, and thus the location a short time later. Burggraf Friedrich V. von Nürnberg gave the place a city charter in 1374, which was lost again later. The Principality of Bayreuth, to the place then belonged, came in 1791 with the Kingdom of Prussia. After four years of French occupation of the city and the castle came in 1810 with the Kingdom of Bavaria. 1901 Kirchenlamitz was raised again to the city.

Incorporations

On 1 January 1978, until then independent municipality Dörflas were Raumetengrün and Reicholdsgrün incorporated in Kirchenlamitz and parts of the territory of the dissolved municipalities.

Mayor

The election of the mayor had to be decided on 16 March, 2008 in a runoff election between the incumbent mayor Reinhard White ( WÜL ) and the SPD candidate Thomas Schwarz. With a turnout of 68.42 % votes in 1331 fell on Black, White received 665 votes. First Mayor is thus Thomas Schwarz, Deputy Mayor Friederike Kränzle (CSU ) and third mayor Gerd Müller ( WÜL ).

Twinning

Kobyla Góra in Poland is the sister community of the city Kirchenlamitz.

Structures

Castle Epprechtstein in the book House district

On the Epprechtstein include former quarries for the Epprechtstein granite, a regionally and nationally renowned granite. Some of them are connected via a hiking trail. Most are abandoned and the rain water has formed in lakes.

In some older homes today have become rare double windows can be observed.
