Kirchheilingen is a municipality in Unstrut Hainich in Thuringia ( Germany ).

Geography

Kirchheilingen located 10 km northeast of Bad Langensalza, in a hollow of the Heilinger heights. The municipality belongs to the administrative community Bad Tennstedt. The administrative headquarters are in the town of Bad Tennstedt.

History

The first record comes from the year 833. 1913 a private Langensalzaer small train of Haussömmern after Langensalza Kirchheilingen was built. This was in 1967 by Haussömmern to Kirchheilingen and 1969 broken down completely.

In the choice of the council on 7 June 2009 Kirchheilingen the Free Wählergemeinschaft Kirchheilingen achieved 95.3 % and the Left Party 4.7% of the votes cast. Thus, all eight seats are provided in the council of the Free Wählergemeinschaft Kircheilingen.

Mayor

The honorary mayor Klaus Schwarzkopf was re-elected on June 6, 2010.

Economy

On the Heilinger heights in the neighborhood of the place 22 wind turbines were built. The community participates in the profits of the owners of the facilities.

Culture and sights

West of the village boundary behind the canyon there is a Bronze Age grave mound burials.
