Kirensk

Kirensk (Russian Киренск ) is a city in Irkutsk Oblast (Russia) with 12,640 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The city is located about 700 km north of Irkutsk Oblasthauptstadt at the mouth of the Lena Kirenga.

The city is the administrative center of the Kirensk Rajons same name.

There are no all-weather land connections After Kirensk; only in the winter, the city is accessible via a partially running on the ice of the Lena Road. The city has an airport and a river port.

History
