Kirill Safronov

Kirill Safronov Alekseyevich (Russian Кирилл Алексеевич Сафронов; born February 26, 1981 in Leningrad, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player, who was last at HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Kirill Safronov began his career in 1998 at the SKA St. Petersburg, where he played until 1999. In the NHL Entry Draft in 1999 it chose the Phoenix Coyotes in the first round at the 19th location. He then went to North America and spent the 1999/2000 season with the Quebec Remparts.

He completed 35 NHL games for the Phoenix Coyotes and the Atlanta Thrashers. Most of the time he spent in North America in the American Hockey League. In 2004 he returned to Russia Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, which he left during the season 2004/ 05 towards Chimik Woskressensk. When SKA St. Petersburg of the Russian stood again from 2005 to 2010 under contract - initially for three years in the Super League and from the 2008/09 season in the newly formed Kontinental Hockey League. For the 2010/11 season he joined the league rivals Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, before he was hired in January 2011 within the KHL Sibir Novosibirsk to HK, for whom he played until December 2012. Then he stood at HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk under contract.

Internationally

With the Russian U20 national Kirill Safronov took part in the Junior World Championship in 1999 and 2000.
