Kirk Furey

Kirk Furey ( born January 28, 1976 in Antigonish, Nova Scotia ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays for the EC KAC in the Austrian Hockey League since 2007.

Career

Only when 25 -year-old Kirk Furey got his first professional contract from Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the East Coast Hockey League. Previously, he spent three years with the Owen Sound Platers in the Ontario Hockey League, three more to the team of Acadia University. In the second season in Atlantic City, he was able to celebrate its biggest sporting success, as his team won the Kelly Cup. He, too, was able to convince why the Philadelphia Phantoms committed him, for which he scored nine goals in 94 AHL games. In the season 2004/ 05 he gave for the Kassel Huskies his DEL debut, which ended as a sporting relegated. Furey was the top scoring defender on the team. Between 2005 and 2007 he played for the Iserlohn Roosters, where he was the top scoring defender, despite private problems after the stroke of his father. After two years at Seilersee he announced his move to the Austrian record champion EC KAC. In the 2008 /09 season he won the Austrian championship with his team.
