Kirkcudbright

Kirkcudbright [ bri ː ː kərku ] is a village in the unitary authority Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland and has 3,447 inhabitants (as of 2001).

The town is located 25 miles west of Dumfries, near the mouth of the River Dee in the Solway Firth.

Highbanks is an approximately 30 m long rock digestion with petroglyphs south of Kirkcudbright.

Kirkcudbright was founded in 1455 as a Royal Burgh.
