Kirovets K-700

The K - 700 is a four-wheel drive tractor of the earlier Soviet and now the Russian producer Kirovets.

Construction

The tractor was manufactured from 1962, its basic structure has been adopted in several subsequent models. The K -700 were also exported, the CMEA GDR imported the K -700 from 1968.

The K -700 is a heavy four-wheel tractor of 50 -MN - class traction with articulated steering and a switchable rear wheel drive. The joint of the front and rear frame member is movable about the vertical and the longitudinal axis, the steering is made by means of hydraulic lateral bending. It is driven by an eight-cylinder turbo-diesel V-type with 215 hp.

The K -700 was developed in 1975 for the K -700 A, which decreed, among others, in addition to extensive fuel inventories ( two tanks each 320 liter capacity) due to larger tires on better traction. The K -700 A, however, represented only a temporary solution dar. Also in 1975 appeared the successor to K- 701. The K -701 has a twelve-cylinder naturally aspirated diesel engine with 300 hp. The development of the K -701, K -701 M, has an eight-cylinder turbo-diesel with 335 hp, which was created in Yaroslavl Engine Plant. From the K -710 with 500 HP in 1980 only five were built. The K -700 tractors were reliable, especially on large, contiguous areas efficiently and after settling in easy to handle, even if the noise and vibration exposure of the driver was relatively high. In the GDR, their size was sometimes a hindrance in operations off the fields.
