Kishore Mahbubani

Kishore Mahbubani ( born 1948 in Singapore) is a political scientist and diplomat from Singapore. From 1971 to 2004 he was in the service of the Foreign Ministry of Singapore and was among others Ambassador to Cambodia, Malaysia, the United States and at the United Nations. He is currently Professor of Political Science at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. In his books, which are also directed to a wider audience, he argues that the dominance of the Western world coming to an end and the world will in the future of Asia, especially China, dominates. The West should want to patronize Asian countries relying on democracy and human rights, so stop. Kishore Mahbubani is one of the " most brilliant and provocative intellectuals of Asia."

In 1995 he received an honorary doctorate from Dalhousie University.
