Kita-ku, Kobe

Kita- ku (Japanese北区, dt " Northern District " ) is a municipality ( ku ) of Kobe. It is 240.31 km ² with the largest surface area of nine in Kobe.

Geography

The district is dominated almost rural and comprises the northern part of Rokkōmassivs and the adjoining districts to the city of Sanda. Due to its location beyond the ridge the damage from the earthquake in Kobe in 1995 were relatively low; also had to complain only 12 victims of the district.

Attractions

Known is the spa town of Arima Onsen. The special features also include the old foreign cemetery of Kobe and lying on Honshu part of the newly opened Akashi Kaikyō National Government Park north and south of the Akashi - Kaikyo Bridge.
