Career
Even with 17 years of playing Kjell Dahlin in the second Swedish league at Timrå IK. Due to strong performances in the junior national one was aware of him, both in Sweden and in North America.
In Sweden it increased with Timrå on in the Elitserien, but then changed in 1982 to giants Färjestad BK. Already at the NHL Entry Draft 1981, the Montreal Canadiens had selected him in the fourth round as 82.
For the 1985/86 season he made the jump overseas and was in his first season the Stanley Cup win. Also, personally, it was a very successful season and he was chosen because of its 32 goals and 71 points scorer in the NHL All- Rookie Team. The following two seasons were marred by injuries and he was only 41 or 48 games.
He then returned to Sweden to his previous club Färjestad BK. Although he starred with Färjestad again for the championship, he never could be Swedish champion. The two tracks of the team to his playing days fall exactly in his three years in the NHL.
In 1994 he ended his playing career.
