KK Budućnost is a Montenegrin basketball club from Podgorica. It currently plays in the ABA league and in the first Montenegrin league.

History

Budućnost Podgorica was founded in 1949. The first decades after the founding of the Club had except at the regional ( Montenegrin ) level, no significant success. Only in 1980 reached the summit in the first Yugoslav league. With the exception of the 1985/86 season ( down to the second division ) played Buducnost always in the first Yugoslav league. Until the collapse of Yugoslavia, however, managed the club failed to win a national title. In the 1995/96 season the club won the trophy for the first one of Serbia and Montenegro. Two years later, you could repeat this success. After the first cup victories succeeded Buducnost between 1999 and 2001 to win three championships in a row. This not a game in the regular season and the playoffs were lost in the 2000/01 season of 27 games. In the same season started Buducnost for the first time in the Euro League after being in the 90 participants of the Korac and Saporta Cup. Since the 2001/ 02 season Buducnost also plays in the Adriatic League. The season 2003/ 04 was for Buducnost the last in the league joint with Serbia. After cleavage from Serbia, there was only in the 2006/07 season own Montenegrin championship. Here Buducnost is the superior team and has so far (2011 /12) won all the championships. International reaching the semi-finals in the Adriatic League in 2011 and 2012 was the largest significant success.
