KkStB Class 112

The steam locomotive number 112 kkStB was an express tender locomotive series of kk Austrian State Railways ( kkStB ).

To set up a fast shuttle service to high speed rail stations, was in the kkStB need for small, fast locomotives. Karl Gölsdorf designed the 112 series for these purposes. The machines were well designed, permitted a momentary speed of 100 km / h and was 100 t permanently with 80 km / h transport. Upon delivery in 1907 by Krauss in Linz, the two machines were equipped with a tiny smoke chamber superheater, which was later removed.

The small locomotives were first used to transport newspaper transports between Vienna and Linz. Later she promoted the " commuter " between Hütteldorf and Unterpurkersdorf, a connection line to the Wiener Stadtbahn, being " wrapped " wrong ( in middle of the train ).

The 112.02 was taken out of service in 1937, which came even as 69 011 112.01 for DR, which put her into the plant status in 1942.
