Klaeng District

Amphoe Klaeng ( in Thai: อำเภอ แกลง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the southeastern province of Rayong. The Rayong province is located in the eastern region of central Thailand.

Geography

The small town Klaeng located approximately 80 kilometers from the tourist center of Pattaya. Up to the fishing village of Ban Phe, from where you can translate with the ship on the resort island of Ko Samet, is about 50 kilometers.

Neighboring districts (from west clockwise): Amphoe Mueang Rayong, the Wang Chan and Khao Chamao Rayong Province and Amphoe Kaeng Hang Maeo and Amphoe Na Yai Am Chantaburi province. To the south lies the Gulf of Thailand.

Economy

Tourism does not determine the image Klaengs, but here the agriculture and fishing plays a very important role.

History

In the reign of King Chulalongkorn ( Rama V ) the city ( Mueang ) Klaeng was a city of the fourth class in Monthon Chanthaburi. The old administration building of Mueang was in Ban Laem Mueang, Tambon Paknam Prasae. In 1897 the administration to Ban Pho Thong on the northern side of the temple ( Wat ) Wat Pho Thong was moved. 1908 Mueang Klaeng was downgraded to a district of the province of Rayong.

Education

In Amphoe Klaeng there is a campus of the private Chalermkarnchana colleges.

Management

The circle is divided into 15 subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 145 villages ( Muban ).

Klaeng itself ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง แกลง ) has a city - state ( thesaban Mueang ) and consists of parts of tambon Thang Kwian and Wang Wa

There are six other small towns ( Tambon thesaban ):

  • Kong Din ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล กอง ดิน ) consists of parts of the tambon Kong Din,
  • Thung Khwai Kin ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ทุ่ง ควาย กิน ) consists of parts of Tambon Thung Khwai Kin and Khlong Pun,
  • Paknam Prasae ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ปากน้ำ ประ แส ) consists of parts of the tambon Paknam Krasae,
  • Sunthorn Phu ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สุนทร ภู่ ) consists of the whole Tambon Kram and Chak Phong,
  • Noen Kho ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เนิน ฆ้ อ ) is the whole Tambon Noen Kho,
  • Ban Na ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้านนา ) is the whole tambon Ban Na.

In addition, there are ten " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
