Klaes Karppinen

Klaes Karppinen ( born October 9, 1907 in Kirkkosalmi; † January 24, 1992 in Iisalmi ) was a Finnish cross country skier who was active in the 1930s.

Karppinen won at Olympic Games and World Championships a total of eleven medals, including six with the Finnish relay. His greatest achievement was winning the 1936 Olympic relay gold medal. His only World Championship title he won in 1935 as a single runner on the 18- km route.
