Klan (TV series)
Klan ( in German: Klan ) is the oldest Polish soap opera. It is sent by the public television TVP1 since 22 September 1997. The 14th season began on 6 September 2010. The program will be aired from Monday to Friday on TVP1 at 17.55 clock. Repeats are shown on TV Polonia with English subtitles.
The series deals with the fictional multi-generational fate of the Warsaw family Lubicz. She won in 1999 and 2000, the renowned Polish Television Award telephoto camera in the category " TV series". On 3 November 2005 the 1000th episode aired. Since the 12th season, the show is broadcast in 16:9.
From 1997 to 2000 Klan was around 10 million viewers, the most successful series on Polish television. Currently ( 2010) it reaches up to 5 million viewers.
