Klas Lestander

Klas Ivar Vilhelm Lestander ( born April 18, 1931 in Arjeplog, Norrbotten County ) is a former Swedish biathlete.

At the 1960 Games in Squaw Valley, he became the first Olympic champion in biathlon, and indeed over the 20 kilometer distance. At the Olympic Winter Games 1956, the military patrol race was held the Biathlon yet been discharged, a pure team competition.

It took up to the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin, to again was a Swede Olympic champion in biathlon: Anna Carin Olofsson won the mass start race of women.
