Klashnekoff
Darren Kandler (* 1975 in Hornsey, London), better known as Klashnekoff, Ricochet Klashnekoff, K - Lash, Son of Niah, The Black Russian or Freedom Fighter, is a British rapper from the London borough of Hackney.
Background
About himself and his background little is known. The only certainty is that his parents come from Jamaica and he himself has two sons. As an explanation for his stage name, he is sometimes claim to come from Russia, which is not true.
Pseudonyms
Kandler used several pseudonyms. His best-known alter ego is " Klashnekoff ", sometimes with the epithet " Ricochet ". Ricochet is the French word for " Ricochet ". He chose this name to express that it " does not know where he's coming from the direction from which he comes ."
" Klashnekoff " is an allusion to the assault rifle AK -47 ( better known as the " Kalashnikov "). It is the symbol of many independence movements, among other things, she is depicted on the flag of Mozambique. Since Kandler themselves as " freedom fighters" (English: freedom fighter, another of his nicknames ) denotes, he chose this name.
Music
Kandler started at the age of ten years to write his own rhymes. He originally wanted to be an actor, let these thoughts but fall for the music. Along with some fellow rappers he formed the group Terra Firma, with whom he produced several tracks since 2001. In 2004 he published some of his songs as an album named The Sagas of Klashnekoff ... what made him known in the UK soon.
DJ Skully brought in 2005 a mix compilation called Focus Mode out that " merges into a whole ", the pre-recorded and rather disjointed tracks from Klashnekoff.
Followed in 2007 by the album Lionheart: Tussle with the Beast, produced by Joe Buddha.
In May 2010, his album Back to the Sagas appeared.
