Klaus-Dieter Neubert

Klaus -Dieter Neubert ( born November 22, 1949 in Upper Wiesenthal ) is a former rower from the GDR. Neubert 1972 Olympic champion in pairs with coxswain.

Neubert won in 1967 as helmsman of the rowing eight from TSC Berlin DDR his first championship title. In 1968 he won the title in two with coxswain together with Wolfgang Gunkel and Helmut Wollmann. At the Olympic Games 1968, the two on the Olympic regatta course in Xochimilco missed with 0.15 seconds behind the third-placed Danish crew only just the bronze medal.

From 1970 started Gunkel and Neubert for the SC Berlin- Grunau. Together with Jörg Lucke he won at the East German championships in 1971 and at the European Championships in 1971. At the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972, the boat won by over two seconds ahead of the Czechoslovak boat. 1973 and 1974 won Gunkel, Lucke and Neubert each GDR Championships and silver at the European Championships in 1973 and the World Championships in 1974.
