Musical work

Klaus Huber's starting point was the serial music in the wake of Anton Webern. However, he left outside the serial technique always open to creative freedom. Since the 1980s, he turned his attention increasingly to the Arab music. This also resulted in his employment with Arabic rhythm models, micro- tonality (especially third tones) and Arabic poetry.

Huber's work is based on spiritual matters. His compositions are evidence of social and political engagement, but are not in the true sense of Christian- religious, but rather humanistic motivated despite their use of sacred texts such as the Bible or medieval mystics. A central significance have large-scale oratorio compositions like ... inwardly full figure ... his contribution to Dürer 1971. Besides chamber music occupies an important position. Increasingly, Huber moved into a the scenic design of music outside of oratorio and opera.
