Klaus Knopper

Klaus Knopper ( born 1968 in Ingelheim) is the developer of the Linux distribution Knoppix and LiNbO.

Knopper studied at the University of Kaiserslautern, where he completed his university studies with a degree in electrical engineering from. During his studies, he was responsible for the German Chess Server GICS.

He works as a freelance IT consultant and developer in the open source environment and are also courses on various topics related to free software. He is also a professor at the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern, Zweibrücken in the Department of Business Administration.

In addition Knopper has co-founded LinuxTag eV, which is the carrier of the same European Linux Fair and Conference. 2005, however Knopper left the club.

Inspired by the experiences of his blind wife developed Knopper the named built- in Knoppix ADRIANE after their solution, which facilitates blind people to use computers by the screen contents translated them into spoken language.
